As a macOS app developer, the #1 and #2 thing I have to correct from localizers when reviewing translations is proper use of ellipsis characters and proper use of quote marks, use of which is specified by Apple’s human interface guidelines. It would be a huge reduction in the amount of manual correct I’d have to do if Localazy could make some suggestions for localizers.
-
Ellipsis characters
English Source: “Deleting…”
Incorrect Translation: “Deleting…”
The incorrect translation made an error, replacing the ellipsis character with 3 periods -
Proper open/close quote marks
English Source: Delete “%@”
Incorrect Translation: Delete “%@”
The incorrect translation made an error, replacing the open/close quote mark with regular double quotes.
Bonus points if the proper quote style could be suggested per language, too.
